This book was established out of a need to show that books in our society became something of a shape of a fossil. It preserves not only content; so thoughts, feelings and ideas of an author, but also graphic style and aesthetics of the moment it was written in. Because of that we need to preserve them as a testimony of a past.
In this book, we tried to show books as a fossil... So also their historical and cultural context. The books as there give us so much more it seems at the first look. The carry knowledge just as the real natural fossils and so they should be preserved with the same consciousness.
What would you like to have happen to your body when you die? Would you like to be buried in a beautiful cemetery somewhere alongside your loved ones? Or perhaps you would like to be buried in a biodegradable coffin in a forest for trees to feed off of your body's nutrients. Would you like to be cremated and have your ashes buried in a cemetery? Or resting in an urn atop a fireplace? Or maybe spread at a natural landmark? Thrown off a cliff into a waterfall? Delicately placed on the ocean floor? Or maybe you don't care at all. Maybe you don't want to think about it, you don't want to burden anyone, you just want to vanish without a trace...The Price of Dying is an index of costing considerations for the afterlife. In the Netherlands, due to a limited amount of space for the burial of its citizens, considerations such as soil type affecting decomposition rates, burial ground rental periods and cremation costs may not be desirable topics, yet are crucial in thinking about the future of an aging population.
